Amongst 5 acres of woodland, pretty cottage gardens, the licensed Bakehouse is a unique secluded destination.  Enjoy learning to make bread on one of their fun classes; book for private hire; stay in onsite holiday cottages or visit the friendly team on one of the public pop up openings to enjoy handmade breads, scrumptious cakes, lunches & afternoon teas. The seasonal menu celebrates the best of Sussex produce and is creative & vibrant, using fruit & veg from the garden & eggs from the resident chickens when possible.

Event 1:  Festival Open DaysSeptember 10th to 19th,  every Tues, Weds, Thurs, 12 noon to 5pm. Delicious lunches, bakes & cakes and full afternoon & cream teas. GF & Vegan options too.  Lunch menu to include Charity dish, which if chosen will attract £1 donation to Chestnut Tree House from the venue.  Booking  advisable as limited inside space.   

Event 2: 12th September – Make your Fortune !  Drinks, Nibbles & Values6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.

Find the  value of all those old food, drink & kitchen orientated items you have stashed away.  They could be really valuable and bring you vast wealth !  Worthing based Henry Nicholls has appeared on many TV programmes helping people to turn unused items into money in the bank.  Even if the value is not quite what you were hoping for, you can still enjoy a drink – or two – along with some delicious Artisan Bakehouse canapes & platers.   Ticket:   £20  per person to include valuations, welcome drink & plentiful sweet & savoury nibbles..   Available on line at  EVENTS page.

Event 3: 13th September – Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. Friday 13th need not be unlucky! ……… We invite you to tumble down the rabbit hole to enjoy a magical Mad Hatter’s Tea party and discover the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland within the Bakehouse & gardens. £40 to include full themed Afternoon Tea, live jazz singer and the fun of the characters in the garden! Event 4: 18th September – Ashurst Tasty Walk.  

Event 520th September  – Sussex Gin Tasting Evening.  7.30pm arrival for welcome Gin Spritz.  Dr. Tom from artisan distiller Slakes Spirits, Shoreham, will host a fun Gin Tasting experience. He will share his knowledge & passion for all things gin as you enjoy a further 3 tastings together with sharing platters of local cheeses, meats,  homemade dips & pates with warm pittas & breads from our wood oven. Event 627th September – Wood Fired Pizza & Pud Supper Club Night (FULLY BOOKED) With autumn just around the corner it’s time to get cosy and fire up the wood oven for a Friday night of fun, fire & delicious wood oven baked pizza! Our candle lit tables, magical fire pit & fairy lights are sure to add some ambience to this twinkly Friday night experience. The ticket price of £28 includes: Arrival drink, choice of pizza  & side salad, choice of pudding
