9th & 10th September 2022

7.30 pm

We are having a change for our Food Festival Supper Club this year and are celebrating another local food based company but from a different part of the world.   We are having a Mexican Fiesta, celebrating Mexico’s national day and the culture of James and his wife Maricela from Prickly Pear Kitchen. We are remaining true to our roots in that all the food is vegan and locally sourced.

As before the cost is £28 a head and you are welcome to bring your own booze. And before you ask it is not Hot,Hot,Hot!

If you would like to come please book on the link below.

Our Mexican inspired Supper Club Menu for 9th and 10th September is –

Tortilla Soup

Fried corn tortilla strips in a traditional tomato and epazote broth, garnished with toasted chilli ancho, avocado, vegetable creme and tofu.

Chiles en Nagada – a typical dish from Puebla

A mix of dry fruits and nuts served in a charred sweet pepper and coated in a delicious and fragrant pecan creme, garnished with pomegranate and parsley.

Flan Caramelisado with fresh fruit

Prickly Pear kitchen is run by Maricela Bautista and husband James Cheeseman. Maricela is from Mexico City and lends her authentic hand to the menu, which is complemented by James’ 10 years of experience as a chef. Prickly Pear celebrates local ingredients and sustainable farming practices, supporting their vision of a healthy food industry, soil to plate. The menu is inspired by Mexican cuisine but is not limited to its traditional style.  This allows some freedom to be creative with the local produce they use, whilst celebrating a love of Mexico.
