Saturday 3rd September 2022. 11 am
Steyning and Upper Beeding allotment holders were invited to take part in this competition, where judging took place at the end of July 2022 to tie in with the growing season. The criteria was: (a) the condition of the plot – was it well stocked & clean; (b) the quality and variety of the vegetables, flowers, fruit & plants and (c) the arrangement of the plot and how it overcame localised site problems. The judging took in inspection of the plot during the judging days and the winner chosen from what was seen at that time.
A great opportunity to show off allotments, plus enjoying some friendly, local rivalry. Our Judges Lou Crush and Eddie Woodward plus our Guest Judges from Rushfield Plant Centre & Rock Farm, had a very tough time deciding on winners – as always the standard and content of the allotments was just amazing. If you missed being involved this time, have a go next year !
Grateful thanks go to both our generous Festival Sponsors, Rushfield Plant Centre for their kindness in also providing the prize vouchers to third place and also to Higgidy Pies for providing superb goodie bags for all winners, crammed full of their delicious products.
May we take this opportunity to thank all our superb and generous sponsors. Without their support and enthusiasm our Festival could not take place – we really cannot thank them enough.
