FREE EVENT – no booking required, just turn up. Meet outside the entrance to the Steyning Centre, Fletchers Croft. 11 am start.
Sunday 26th September. 11 am prompt start. Duration about 2 hours.
A “ramble” through half a millennium of Steyning’s liquid history with plenty of stops along the way. See where breweries, malthouses, inns and public houses were situated in the past and whether we can find any traces of them today. The Chequer Inn, The Norfolk Arms, The Star and The White Horse, are fortunately still with us – here is your chance to take in some of their history too. Delightfully hosted – with great humour – by local historian Dr Janet Pennington. After the walk, why not visit the Beer Festival being held at the Sussex Football Club and sample some local ale before you head for home !
